The Ledge Gallery was a domestic exhibition space located in Stevens Square, Minneapolis, in operation from January, 2013 through February, 2014. Established by artists Mac Balentine, Julia Caston, and Larsen Husby, our mission was to showcase new art and build a community dedicated to its appreciation.
Our Artist Exhibition Program provided a space for artists to create previously unrealized projects, or to show work that has never before been displayed. For many of our artists, this was their first chance to have a solo show, and thus an important professional development opportunity. During our 14 months of operation, we showcased 10 different Twin Cities artists. Visit our Past page to see a full listing of our exhibitions.
Though the Artist Exhibition Program is no longer running, the Ledge also founded the Minneapolis Art Lending Library, which continues to operate out of the Stevens Square Center for the Arts. The MALL provides the public a chance to borrow original works of art from local and national artists for two-month periods free of charge.
